Mean Girls
IN the Mean Girls movie, the Plastics represent the typical spoiled white high school girls. They are like the perfect barbie dolls who think they are better than everyone. The movie also steotypes different types of people based on their different interests and race. The movie represents women and feminism in a negative way by showing American girls as property of men and shows them as incapable people.

In the movie Mean Girls, I think the movie limits our understanding of women and uses women in a negative way because the movie is mostly of women. Many women are actually more capable and make something of their lives. It puts women down who are basically not as perfect as the so called "plastics".
ReplyDeleteI agree with Edward that the movie does depict stereotypes in american culture. it also shows how many women are trying to be what the movie calls it at as "Plastics" and are not happy with them selves.
ReplyDeleteTrue I also agree because in the movie the "plastics" are the popular kids and then they have follows which the movie depicts as all the ugly people trying to be more like and look like the popular crowd. This movie does show gender stereotypes, but Tina Fey does depict the person that sees through all the stereotypes when they go into the gym after the burn book.
