THE CHANGE OF ADVERTISING
Advertising now is more pathos and ethos now than back in the beginnings of marketing. today we know to move or engage people to commercials you have to appeal to them and those advertising back then was more the approach of using ER VERBS like greatER, biggER, bettER, and words like these used to encourage buyers to buy their product. But now everything works now so the advertising business had to try other ways to appeal to us. so they began the way the advertise now through pathos and ethos and even some times logos.

i agree that advertisers now have to use different means to influence us because all these other methods have worked and there needs to be more to set the product apart from the rest.
ReplyDeleteI agree that advertisers now use the ethos and pathos approach to get their products across. But I also thing that some ads are just going with the pathos approach because more and more people tend to buy things that would make them feel good about them selves or others, like the weight loss ads. I think those do so well because their is an emotional appeal to being skinny and losing tons of weight.
